Art Sale from the Estate of Janet Cimino benefit for Tsuga Gallery in Cathlamet

Opening Saturday April 20th, Redmen Hall will hold a sale of art from the estate of Janet Cimino, a well known local collector, The sale is being held as a benefit for Tsuga Gallery . Cimino founded the Cathlamet art gallery for artists in Southwest Washington.
    Janet's collection is primarily from the Pacific Northwest, but also includes many pieces from England and Japan. There is framed calligraphy by the English artist M. Adams; the Japanese collection includes antique silk embroidery, sumiyuri prints from the early 1700's by Banke, Kensho, and others, water colors from the middle 1800's, and other beautiful pieces. There is a collection of prints, paintings, and photographs from well known Pacific Northwest artists including Rei Munoz, Lee Mann, and our local Maude Butler. There are also certified Duck Stamp paintings and other wildlife prints, and many works by nationally recognized regional artists. There are also several works by Janet Cimino - her painted wooden objects in the antique Swedish style and many of her beautiful greeting cards.
    The sale will open April 20th and run until June 1st - or until all the works are sold. It is being held at Redmen Hall in Skamokawa at 1394 SR-4 - the School House on the Hill. All items are priced to sell and include a wide variety of items for every taste. We will be having a reception on opening day to honor the members of Tsuga Gallery with the usual refreshments served. Redmen Hall is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.. There is no admission charge but donations are greatly appreciated.
