FOS Photography Exhibit this Sunday, April 2nd at 1:00 PM

The Friends of Skamokawa will be opening our exhibit season with a photography exhibit highlighting and capturing the natural beauty of Wahkiakum County and the surrounding areas. We are proud to present three photographers who each have their own unique way of capturing the profound beauty that surrounds us. Two award winners so far and one well on her way. Megan Blackburn, Laurie Michaels, and Teddy Townsend are all experienced photographers who have an instinctual sense for showing the natural world of Wahkiakum County and have caught the essence of our amazing place on the Columbia. The exhibit will open on Sunday, April 2nd at 1:00 PM with the artists there to meet, greet, and speak about their visions. The exhibit will last until May 7th and will be on display upstairs in Friends of Skamokawa’s River Life Interpretive Center located at 1394 State Route 4, Skamokawa, WA 98647. We are open Thursdays through Sundays, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and there will be refreshments served throughout the opening weekend. There is no admission and all are welcome to attend any of our events or stop in during our open hours to see our historical displays of steamboats, tugboats, fisheries, creameries, archaeological artifacts of Skamokawa, our Birds of the Lower Columbia River display and more. Annual Members Meeting this Sunday, March 19th at 2:00 PM

To all members of Friends of Skamokawa and interested parties,

FOS will be having its annual membership meeting on Sunday, MARCH 19th at The River Life Interpretive Center in Skamokawa starting at 2:00 PM.
Special guest speakers will be Kent and Irene Martin describing their archaeological digs in Wahkiakum County with photographs of their work.

The FOS meeting will be presided over by our Board President, Pam Emery. The FOS members will elect new Board members and perhaps re-elect current ones who might be interested in continuing their service. There will be a discussion of current business, a financial report, and a discussion of future projects the Board has proposed and an opportunity for members to discuss their thoughts about the future of FOS.

After the meeting, there will be music provided by the Harmony Hearts and a Pie Social with delicious pies baked by our very talented local bakers.

See you there,
