'The Wonderful Women of Wahkiakum County' Exhibit continues through June 25th

Friends of Skamokawa’s current exhibit, 'The Wonderful Women of Wahkiakum County' continues through June 25th. This display presents the beautiful craft work of four groups representative of the talented women in this county. The groups are the Skamokawa Grange Women's Activity Group, the Seattle Children's Hospital - Puget Island Auxiliary, the River City Strippers, and the GFWC Cathlamet Woman's Group. Besides their fine craft work these groups all contribute a great deal of their work to charity and there is detailed information about each group included in this beautifully colorful display. Most of these groups do not usually show their work and we are incredibly fortunate to have the honor of showing these pieces. We are located in Skamokawa, WA at 1394 State Route 4, directly across from the Skamokawa Post Office and the Skamokawa General Store. We are open Thursday - Sunday 12-4 pm. Friends of Skamokawa opens our new exhibit on Mother's Day, Sunday May 14th. The groups are the Skamokawa Grange Women's Activity Group, the Seattle Children's Hospital - Puget Island Auxiliary, the River City Strippers, and the GFWC Cathlamet Woman's Group. In addition to their fine craft work these groups all contribute a great deal to charity. There will be detailed information about each organization included in this colorfully unique display. FOS Photography Exhibit runs through Sunday May 7th. Open Thursday through Sunday 12-4:00 PM

''

This Thursday through Sunday is our last week of showing the powerful display of photography which highlights the natural beauty of Wahkiakum County and the surrounding areas. We are proud to feature the work of three artists who each have their own way of capturing our uniquely local landscape. Megan Blackburn, Laurie Michaels, and Teddy Townsend are all experienced photographers who have an instinctual sense for showing the natural world of Wahkiakum County and have caught the essence of our amazing place on the Columbia. This exhibit lasts through this Sunday May 7th and is on display upstairs in Friends of Skamokawa’s River Life Interpretive Center located at 1394 State Route 4, Skamokawa, WA 98647. We are open Thursdays through Sundays, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM with plenty of parking at the top of the driveway and an easy, gentle walking path to the entrance of the building on our main floor. All are welcome to come and explore. For more information, please call (360) 795-3007, email us at fos1894@gmail.com or comment or message us here on Facebook with any questions or inquiries.
