Half Price Art!

Redmen Hall is having a estate sale of art from the collection of the founder of Tsuga Gallery, Janet Cimino, benefitting Tsuga gallery. It has been quite successful, but there are still some pieces left.   The Board at Tsuga Gallery has decided they have no room to store what might be left so they are reducing all remaining items to 1/2 price to clear them out.  The sale will last two  4 day weekends  - this coming one and Memorial Day weekend. So, come visit Redmen Hall and take your pick of these amazingly low prices,benefit Tsuga gallery,  and visit Redmen Hall - a beautiful building steeped in local history.
    We are open Thursday through Sunday, 12 noon to 4 p.m. and are located at 1394 SR4 in Skamokawa, Washington. Our  new office hours are 9-5 on Wednesdays. Our telephone# is (360) 795-8675. Coffee will be served.

Art Sale from the Estate of Janet Cimino benefit for Tsuga Gallery in Cathlamet

Opening Saturday April 20th, Redmen Hall will hold a sale of art from the estate of Janet Cimino, a well known local collector, The sale is being held as a benefit for Tsuga Gallery . Cimino founded the Cathlamet art gallery for artists in Southwest Washington.
    Janet's collection is primarily from the Pacific Northwest, but also includes many pieces from England and Japan. There is framed calligraphy by the English artist M. Adams; the Japanese collection includes antique silk embroidery, sumiyuri prints from the early 1700's by Banke, Kensho, and others, water colors from the middle 1800's, and other beautiful pieces. There is a collection of prints, paintings, and photographs from well known Pacific Northwest artists including Rei Munoz, Lee Mann, and our local Maude Butler. There are also certified Duck Stamp paintings and other wildlife prints, and many works by nationally recognized regional artists. There are also several works by Janet Cimino - her painted wooden objects in the antique Swedish style and many of her beautiful greeting cards.
    The sale will open April 20th and run until June 1st - or until all the works are sold. It is being held at Redmen Hall in Skamokawa at 1394 SR-4 - the School House on the Hill. All items are priced to sell and include a wide variety of items for every taste. We will be having a reception on opening day to honor the members of Tsuga Gallery with the usual refreshments served. Redmen Hall is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.. There is no admission charge but donations are greatly appreciated.

Area Antiques on Sale over Four Weekends

Area antiques will be on view and for sale at Redmen Hall from Thursday, February 28th to March 24th.  The sale runs Thursdays through Sundays.  There will be special opening hours for the first days of the sale: 10am to 4pm on Thursday February 28th through Sunday, March 3rd.  Regular hours will then resume for the last three weekends of the sale: Thursdays through Sundays from noon until 4pm.

Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th: 10am to 4pm. 

Sunday, November 25th, Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd: Noon – 4 p.m.

           

Friends of Skamokawa invite you to join them for a warm and festive open house to celebrate the holidays!  Both floors of Redmen Hall will be overflowing with locally handmade gifts, and as always, will be beautifully decorated with lights, ribbons and fresh greens. 

Refreshments will be served and  local musicians will provide entertainment.

Northwest artists will have a special display of their beautiful work on the second floor….there is bound to be a ‘perfect find’ for someone on your list.  All their items will be offered for sale. Many unique craft and hand made items will be available.

Each of us has a “difficult to buy for” person on our Christmas list and often a book fills that spot perfectly.   Redmen Hall has an excellent assortment of books by local and regional authors on a myriad of subjects.  Local history?  Logging?  Fishing? Ecology?  Recreation?  Inspirational?  Cook Books?  You’ll find them all…come in and browse and find that perfect gift.

Preparing for the Annual Holiday Gift Open House...

Calling all Artisans! 

Skamokawa's  Redmen Hall is preparing for their Annual Open House, beginning Thanksgiving weekend, November 23, 24 and 25.  If you are 'crafty', consider joining the folks who display their items for sale in this historic school house.  We are looking for artwork,  glasswork, knitted items and decorations . Gifts of all types!   New artisans are always welcome!

On Now: The Photography of Nick Deal

Nick Deal- who has won many awards in photography at the Washington State Fair and other county fairs in Washington and Oregon, is now exhibiting in Redmen Hall.

He has exhibited at many locations in Washington and Oregon including Redmen Hall last year, and was so popular we have asked him back for a one man exhibit. He is a young man who has a unique view of the environment, concentrating on the architecture of negative and positive space giving us all a different way of seeing our world. 

The exhibit titled "As I See It", will run through the weekend of November 17th and 18th and will be followed the next weekend by our annual Holiday Open House. Redmen Hall is at 1394 SR-4 in Skamokawa, Washington, and is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

For the Birds

Redmen Hall is celebrating the end of summer with a collection of art, crafts, and whimsey titled "For the Birds". We have been honored with a display of mounted birds from the Audubon Society titled 'the Lower Columbia River Wildlife Collection' (not for sale) around which pictures, paintings, quilts, carvings, prints and more will be shown that will before sale. These have been contributed by artists and crafts people along the Columbia River Estuary from Vancouver to Astoria and most of the points along the way. This exhibit is open ended and welcomes entries from artists and craft people during the weeks of the exhibit to replace what we sell. The exhibit  runs through September 30th.  Opening hours are Thursday through Sunday: 12 noon to 4 p.m.
