Every Little Bit Helps......
Redmen Hall, with its RiverLife Interpretive Center, formerly known at Skamokawa Central School, was built in 1894. the school closed in 1927.
The Fraternal Order of Redmen saved the building from highway construction by moving it to its present site in the mid 1930s. It then became their meeting house.
The Friends of Skamokawa Foundation, formed as a 501 (c)3 in 1985, purchased the abandoned building and have restored it to its present condition.
The RiverLife Interpretive Center depicts the early history of Skamokawa, centered around the formerly dominant industries of fishing, logging and farming.
